Access Control Systems in Milwaukee & New Berlin
Decide who gets in, which door they use, and when. AdvaTech designs and installs Axis access control for Milwaukee-area businesses, with video at every door and a private system you own.
Locally owned since 2010 · Axis Solution Gold Partner · NDAA-compliant equipment only
Why Milwaukee businesses replace keys with access control
Keys get copied, lost, and handed to former employees. Rekeying a building is slow and expensive. With access control, a lost badge is shut off in seconds, every door keeps its own record, and doors lock and unlock on a schedule without anyone walking the building.
Shut off a credential instantly
Turn off a lost card or a departing employee from one screen. No locksmith, no rekeying.
Schedules that run themselves
Front doors unlock for business hours and lock at close. Holiday schedules and one-time overrides are built in.
A record for every door
Who opened which door and when, plus every denied attempt and door held open. Searchable when you need it.
Video tied to the swipe
Pair each access event with the camera at that door, so a name has a face next to it.
Zones and permissions
Staff, vendors, and cleaning crews get only the doors and hours they need. Server rooms and stock rooms stay restricted.
Grows door by door
Start with the doors that matter most and add openings, buildings, and gates later on the same system.
Axis access control, built into the video system
We install Axis door controllers and readers managed in AXIS Camera Station Secure Entry, the access control built into AXIS Camera Station Pro. One program for doors, cardholders, and cameras, and one team that supports all of it.

Door controllers
PoE controllers that make decisions at the door and keep working if the network is down.

Readers
Card, keypad, and mobile readers with encrypted OSDP connections to the controller.

Credentials
Cards, fobs, PINs, mobile credentials, and QR codes for visitors.

Management software
Cardholders, schedules, zones, and reports alongside your live and recorded video.
Product photos from Axis Communications. Each card opens the Axis product page.
Already running Kantech? We still service and support existing Kantech systems and can plan a door-by-door move to Axis when it makes sense for your budget.
We start with the doors, not a parts list
Before anyone orders hardware, we walk the building with you and mark every opening on a floor plan:
- Which doors need a reader, and which only need a door contact or request-to-exit
- The lock hardware each door actually needs: electric strike, maglock, or electrified hardware
- Fire code and egress requirements at every controlled opening
- Where controllers, power, and cable runs belong
- Which cameras should be paired with which doors
- Gates, parking arms, and elevators that belong on the same system
You get a door schedule and an itemized quote, so you can do it all at once or phase it by priority.

Frequently asked questions
What access control system do you install?
We design and install Axis access control: Axis network door controllers and readers, managed in AXIS Camera Station Secure Entry inside AXIS Camera Station Pro. That puts doors, cardholders, and cameras in one program.
How much does access control cost for a business?
Cost follows the doors. The number of openings, the lock hardware each door needs, and the cabling distance drive the price more than anything else. After a free site assessment you get an itemized quote per door, so you can phase the project if you need to.
Can we keep our existing cards or fobs?
Often, yes. Many HID-style cards and fobs can carry over to new readers. We check your credential format during the assessment and tell you before you buy anything new.
What happens if the network or server goes down?
Axis door controllers make access decisions at the door and store credentials locally, so doors keep working and logging even if the server or network is down. Events sync back when the connection returns.
Can access control work with our cameras?
Yes. Because Secure Entry runs inside AXIS Camera Station Pro, every grant, deny, and forced door can be paired with the video from that door, and you can search by person, door, or time.
Do you still support Kantech systems?
Yes. We continue to service and support existing Kantech access control systems. For new projects and expansions we recommend Axis, and we can plan a door-by-door migration when you are ready.
Can you control gates, elevators, and the front entrance too?
Yes. Gates and parking arms can join the same system through Axis I/O and controllers, elevators can be scheduled by floor, and the front door can use a video intercom so staff see a visitor before they unlock.
Is the system cloud based?
No. We install private, customer-owned access control. The software runs on your own server and the controllers sit on your own segmented network. You decide who can manage it.
