Answer the door in Microsoft Teams
2N IP intercoms register directly to Microsoft Teams through Microsoft’s SIP gateway. It is a direct connection to Teams, not a third-party app.
- Answer from the Teams desktop app, a Teams desk phone, or the Teams mobile app
- Unlock the door from the Teams dialpad during the call
- Ring a Teams user who has a phone number, or a Teams call queue so the right group answers
- Video stays on the intercom and your Axis camera system; the Teams call itself is audio
Each intercom needs its own Microsoft Teams license, which is separate from the 2N license. 2N recommends a Teams Shared Device license and 2N OS 2.46.1 or newer. Details: 2N integration hub: Microsoft Teams.

Ring your VoIP phone system
Axis and 2N intercoms are SIP devices. They join your VoIP phone system like another extension, so the front door rings the phones your staff already use.
- Ring reception, a ring group, or a different department after hours
- Unlock with a keypad code during the call
- Use overhead paging and door chimes on the same phone system
- Need new phones? We install business VoIP phone systems and connect the intercom in the same project
The intercom is one part of a secure entrance
A video intercom works best with controlled doors and a camera on the approach. We design, install, and support all three.

Frequently asked questions
What is a commercial video intercom system?
A video intercom is a door station with a camera, microphone, speaker, and call button at the entrance. When a visitor presses the button, staff inside see and talk to them, then unlock the door remotely. It replaces the buzzer and the guesswork of opening the door for whoever knocks.
Can the intercom ring our existing office phones?
Yes, if your phone system supports SIP. Axis and 2N intercoms register to a VoIP phone system like any other extension, so a door call can ring a desk phone, a ring group, or a reception console, and staff can unlock the door with a keypad code during the call. If your phones are older, we can replace them with a VoIP system at the same time.
Does the intercom work with Microsoft Teams?
Yes. 2N IP intercoms connect directly to Microsoft Teams through Microsoft’s SIP gateway. Staff answer the door from the Teams desktop app, a Teams phone, or the Teams mobile app, and can unlock the door from the Teams dialpad. The Teams call is audio only; video stays on the intercom and the camera system. Each intercom needs its own Teams license, which 2N recommends as a Teams Shared Device license, and 2N OS 2.46.1 or newer.
Axis or 2N: which intercom should we choose?
Both are SIP intercoms, and 2N is part of the Axis group. Axis intercoms fit naturally when the building already runs AXIS Camera Station Pro, and the AXIS A8207-VE Mk II can also act as a door reader. 2N offers more styles, touchscreen directories, and the direct Microsoft Teams connection. We match the station to the entrance during the site assessment.
Can the intercom unlock the door and record video?
Yes. The intercom drives the door release directly or through the access control system, and its camera records like any other Axis camera, so every door call has video you can search later.
Do you install intercoms for multi-tenant buildings?
Yes. Touchscreen and keypad door stations with a directory let visitors call the right tenant or department, and each call can ring a different phone, group, or Teams user.
Is the intercom cloud based?
No. We install intercoms as part of a private, customer-owned system on your own segmented network. Calls ring your own phones or your Teams tenant, and video records on your own Axis system.
What does a video intercom cost?
It depends on the station, the door hardware, cabling, and how calls should be answered. After a free site assessment you get an itemized quote for each entrance.
